Deed from Samuel Adams to Amos Hart

To All People to Whom These Presents Shall Come: Greeting
 
Know you that we, Elijah Wampey, Solomon Mossuck, and Samuel Adams, all aboriginal Natives of Farmington in the County of Hartford and Colony of Connecticut in New England, do by the advice and direction of Colonel John Strong and Fisher Gay, Esqrs., of said Farmington, two of the Committee appointed by the Honorable General Assembly of the Colony of Connecticut at their sessions at Hartford on the second Tuesday of May 1774 to oversee, direct, and inspect the said Elijah, Solomon, and Samuel in the sale of their lands belonging to them and the rest of the descendants of the original Tunxis Tribe of Indians, etc., therefore having obtained and direction of said Committee as aforesaid and for the consideration of eighteen pounds, two shillings, and six pence lawful money received to our full satisfaction of Amos Hart of Farmington aforesaid do give, grant, bargain, sell, and or confirm unto the said Amos Hart and to his heirs and assigns forever, one piece or parcel of land situate in said Farmington and is part of [the] Eighth Allotment in number in the Second Division of land, lying west of the reserved land formerly (so-called) and contains thirty-six acres and one rood as the same lyeth undivided with the rest of said lot.  The whole lot is butted and bounded as follows, namely, east and west on highways north on the Seventh Lot and south on the Ninth Lot in said division, to have and to hold, the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him, the said Amos Hart, and to his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof, and we, the said Elijah, Solomon, and Samuel, do for ourselves and the rest of the original Tunxis Tribe of Indians, their heirs, etc., forever, with the said Amos Hart and with his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing of these presents, we with the rest of the descendants of the said Indian Tribe are well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right together with the aforesaid Committee to sell the same in manner and form, as is above written, and that the same is free of all encumbrances.  And, furthermore, we, the said Elijah, Solomon, and Samuel do ourselves and the rest of the descendants of the said Tunxis Tribe bind ourselves and our heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him, the said Amos Hart, his heirs, and sssigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.
