Copy of Parthenia Hoscott's Last Will and Testament

I, Parthenia Horsecoat of Mohegan in the County of New London, do make the following distribution of the estate which God has permitted me to hold and make this as my last will and testament.  That is to say, I give and devise to Henry Matthews, son of Diana, my lot of land of thirty acres, east of John Tantaquidgeon’s, also four acres of wood land lying south-west of Fort Hill Farm, near where young John Uncas lived.  All of the above to said Henry and to his heirs and assigns forever.  And I give and bequeath to Diana Rogers, my niece, my bed and bedding for her own disposal.  I appoint Joshua E. Woodworth, Jr., to be my executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I set my hand and seal,
