Choychoy, Mary

Mary Choychoy was the wife of Solomon Cooper of the Mohegan community.  The couple had three children: Sally (bc. 1771), Hannah (bc. 1775), and Abraham (bc. 1777).  By 1823, she had become nearly blind, and for several years, confined to one room in a straw bed.  Being the owner of a small piece of land, Mary petitioned the Connecticut General Assembly that same year to request permission to sell her land for her support.
