Cooper, Jacob (1836)

Jacob Cooper was the son of Joshua Cooper and Amy George (Pequot) of Montville, Connecticut and a member of the Mohegan community.  On October 10, 1782, he married Lucy Poquiantup in Groton, Connecticut.  Ebenezer Punderson of Preston billed him as late as late as Nov. 1799. In that same year, he was in a Mohegan census with a family of two.   His name appears on a petition to the General Assembly in 1836. Brown and Rose, Black Roots, 92.
