Deed from Sarah Adams to Timothy Root (Copy)

To All People to Whom These Presents Shall Come: Greeting
 
Know you that I, Sarah Adams, late of Farmington, in the County of Hartford, now of Stockbridge in the State of the Massachusetts by and with the advice and direction of Hezekiah Wadsworth and Elnathan Gridley of the Committee appointed by the Honorable General Assembly of the State of Connecticut to advise and direct in the sale of the Indian land in said Farmington for the consideration of six pounds money received to my full satisfaction, of Timothy Root of Farmington, aforesaid, do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Timothy Root and to his heirs and assigns forever one piece or parcel of land scituate in said Farmington and is the Seventh Lot in number in the division of the Indian land set to the Indian Neck proprietors and contains one acre, three roods, and thirty-five rods and is butted and bounded east on a highway, north [1] on a lot set in said division to Catharine Quichick, south on the lot set out to Abigail Sanchuse.
 
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him, the said Timothy Root, and to his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof.  And, also, I, the said Sarah Adams, do for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Timothy Root and with his heirs and assigns that, at and until the ensealing of these presents, I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form, as is above written, and that the same is free of all encumbrances whatsoever.  And, furthermore, I, the said Sarah Adams, do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him, the said Timothy Root, his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
