- 1. Both Mark Daniels and Captain Peter Avery provided board and care for a young Pequot child, not quite two years old, for a period of three years, after the boy was left in the community by his mother. The child suffered a tragic accident shortly upon his arrival at Mashantucket and this left him requiring constant care and medical attendance.
