Wyyougs, Charles, 1808 - 1837

Charles Wyyougs was the son of Gurdon Occom Wyyous and Martha Shantup Uncas of Montville, Connecticut, and brother to Samuel Hoscott (1792-), Gurdon Wyyougs (1795), Mary Quidgeon (1796-1879), Collins Wyyougs (1798), Sarah A. Wyoggs Smith (1804-1868).  Charles was a student of the missionary school teacher Sarah Lanman Huntington Smith, and according to his obituary, possessed “fine talents and strictly temperate habits.”  Norwich Courier (Norwich, Connecticut), January 25, 1837.
