Turner, Hannah, 1779 - 1841

Hannah Turner (1779-January 22, 1841) was the daughter of Samuel Turner and Abigail Dewey of Stonington, Connecticut.  Ms. Turner was employed as a schoolmistress at the Wheeler Schoolhouse, where she taught books lessons as well as sewing, knitting, and sampler work to her female pupils. Among her students were children from the Eastern Pequot community.  She died in Stonington at age 62 as a well-beloved town figure.
