Tantaquidgeon, John , 1755 - 1843

John Tantaquidgeon was the son of John Tantaquidgeon, Sr. and Lucy Occom of the Mohegan community at Montville, Connecticut.  He was a mariner on the privateer General Putnam out of New London, Connecticut in 1778.  His name appears on an 1836 tribal petition to the Connecticut General Assembly.  John Tantaquidgeon died in Brothertown, New York in 1843.  Brown and Rose, Black Roots, 401.  John Tantaquidgeon, family Data Collection, Ancestry.
