Hoscott, Samuel , 1792 - 1831

Samuel Hoscott was the son of Isaiah Hoscott and Martha Shanup.  He was half-brother to Gurdon Wyyougs (1795-), Mary  Wyouggs (1769-1879), Collins Wyyougs (1798-), Sarah A. Wyyougs (1804-1868), and Charles Wyyougs (1807-1837).  Samuel’s name appears on a list of Mohegans in 1827, when he was 35 years old.  He died in June 1830, unmarried.  Brown and Rose, Black Roots,  187.
