Petition of Rebecca Davis to the Massachusetts General Court

To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Respectfully represents Rebecca Davis of Boston in the County of Suffolk, that she is a member of the Ponkapog Tribe of Indians, that she receives from the Commonwealth annually the sum of fifty dollars, that she is seventy-six years of age, that said sum of fifty dollars (which is granted to her during her life) is insufficient for her comfortable support.

Wherefore, she prays that an additional sum of fifty dollars may be granted to her, the same to be payable to the Guardian of said tribe to be by him expended and paid for her benefit.

And as in duty bound will ever pray,

Rebecca Davis, her mark
