Petition of Rebecca Davis to the Massachusetts General Court

To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Respectfully represents Rebecca Davis of Boston in the County of Suffolk, that she is a member of the Ponkapog Tribe of Indians, that she has an annual grant of fifty dollars per year during her life, made to her by a Statute or Resolve of this Commonwealth.

And she further represents that said sum of fifty dollars per annum is insufficient for her comfortable support and maintenance by reason of her age and infirmity. Wherefore, she prays that

an additional sum of fifty dollars may be granted to her for the ensuing year.

And as in duty bound will ever pray,

Rebecca Davis, her mark
