Takawambpait, Daniel, 1652 - 1716

Daniel Takawambpait was one of John Eliot's early converts to Christianity and a leader within the Natick Indian community.  He was signatory to the 1679 land exchange between the Natick and the Town of Sherborn, Massachusetts and served as a teacher and pastor of Natick's Indian school from at least 1683 until his death.
