Chauncey, Elihu, 1710 - 1791

Elihu Chauncey was the son of Reverend Nathaniel Chauncey and Sarah Judson of Durham, Connecticut.  He commended Connecticut’s Fourth Regiment during the French & Indian War and was a judge of the New Haven County Court.  He served as a representative from the Town of Durham to the Connecticut General Assembly for forty years and was clerk of the Lower House in 1756.  David Dudley Field, A Statistical Account of the County of Middlesex, in Connecticut (Middletown, CT: Clark & Lyman, 1819), 119.
