Letter of Elisha Crary, Overseer to the Western Pequot Indians, to the New London County Court

To the Honorable County Court of the County of New London now sitting in Norwich,

Being informed by Thankful1 that you wished me to inform Your Honors if I intended to take the care of the Pequot Tribe of Indians the ensuing year.  These lines are to inform Your Honors that I do not intend to serve as overseer to said Tribe any longer.
