Walmsley, Hebron, 1784 -

Hebron Walmsley was the son of Powers Walmsley of Gay Head, Massachusetts.  He married Amy Paichiker in 1809.  He married second Jane Francis by 1846.  was a member of the Gay Head community.  In 1811 and 1814, he joined Abraham Cooper in protesting an Act of the Massachusetts Legislature which reimposed guardianship over the affairs of the Gay Head people.  He lent his voice to a petition to support the community's schools in 1864. Petition of Abraham Cooper, 1811.07.13.00.  Petition of Abraham Cooper, 1814.05.16.00.  Petition of Zaccheus Howwaswee, 1864.02.05.00. Pierce and Segel, Wampanoag Families of Martha's Vineyard, 1036-1037.
