Winthrop, Wait

Wait Winthrop (1642-1717) was the second son born to Governor John Winthrop and Elizabeth Reade.  He served in many military and political capacities for Massachusetts: chief judge of the Massachusetts Superior Court and member of the Governor’s Council.  Winthrop served in both King Philip’s War and King William’s War.  During the Provincial period in Massachusetts, he was an associate justice in the Superior Court of Judicature, and later chief justice.  Wikipedia.
