Wheeler, Peres, 1789 - 1865
Peres Wheeler was the son of Peres Wheeler and Desire Randall of Stonington, Connecticut. In 1815, he let his year-old cow out in the Eastern Pequot Indian Town pasture for the benefit of Hanna Shelly. Wheeler served as a lieutenant in Colonel Pendleton's Eight Regiment from Groton of the Connecticut militia. Find A Grave (Wheeler Cemetery, North Stonington, CT).
