Tray, Thomas, 1623 -

Thomas Tray was a Christian Indian leader at Natick around 1680.  His brothers were Anthony Tray and Old Wampus.  He was also uncle to John Wampus and Benjamin Wawobequnnont.  Tray was one of the proprietors of the Indian Plantation of Whipsufferage and a participant of the 1679 land exchange between Natick and the Town of Sherborn.  Mandell, Behind the Frontier, 32, 38, 212.  Connole, The Indians of the Nipmuck Country in Southern New England, 124, 127, 233.  O’Brien, Dispossession by Degrees, 100.
