Tecomwas, Cynthia, 1778 - 1855

Cynthia Tecomwas was the daughter of Peter Tecomwas and Lucy Tantaquidgeon.  With her marriage to Isiah Hoscott, they had children: Diana Hoscott, Rachel Hoscott, John Hoscott.  From her marriage to Valentine Smith, she had Bartholomew Tantaquidgeon Smith, and Sally.  Cynthia is listed in Mohegan rosters (1782, 1830) a member of that community. In 1850 she was a signatory to a petition to the Connecticut General Assembly protesting the ability of several individuals of selling shares in Mohegan Tribal lands. Brown and Rose, Black Roots, 81.  Remonstrance of Anson D.
