Shilling, John

John Shilling was a member of the Tunxis community of Farmington, Connecticut.  During the French & Indian War, he served under Colonel David Wooster, First Company 1758 and Fifth Company 1759.  He was most likely the husband of Abigail Shilling.  They both received property at Peqquonnock Meadow in the tribal allotment in 1777.  The following year, Shilling enlisted into Captain Joseph Wright's Company of the Connecticut Regiment of Foot, commanded by  Colonel Phillip Burr Bradley for the month of January 1778.
