Root, Stephen, 1652 - 1717

Stephen Root (1652-1717) was the son of John Root and Mary Kilbourn of Farmington, Connecticut.   During King Philip's War, Root fought at the Great Swamp Fight.  He owned property in the meadow land at Pequabuck, at White Oak Plain, and at the Long Swamp, all of which eventually were passed down, upon his death, to his grandchildren, Jonathan, Stephen, and Timothy Root, with an additional parcel at Crane Hall that went to Stephen.
