Pray, John, - 1733

John Pray was the son of Richard and Mary Pray of Providence, Rhode Island.  When Providence was attacked during King Philip's War, he remained in the town with his father to defend it.  For that service, he was one of several residents of Providence to receive a share of the proceeds of selling Indian captives in August 1676.   "Indian Slaves of King Philip's War," Proceedings of the Rhode Island Historical Society, 1892-1893 (Providence: Standard Printing Company, 1893), 234-238.
