Hewitt, Charles , 1730 - 1804

Charles Hewitt was the son of Major Israel Hewitt and Anna Breed of Stonington, Connecticut and the husband of Hannah Stanton.  He served as the overseer of the Eastern Pequot Indians from 1788 to his death in 1804, when the position was taken up by his son, Eli.  Wheeler, History of Stonington, 420, 422.  IP 1.2.252, 253; 2.2.106, 107.
