Hawkins, Jerusha

Jerusha was the wife of a Mingo Hawkins and lived with the Ponkapaug community.  The presence of her name in a 1781 petition that included the name of her son, it is possible that Isaac Williams is her child from a previous union. In that petition, she and Mingo both signed a petition to the Massachusetts Legislature, asking for an abatement of taxes.  Petition of Sarah Berry and Family to the Massachusetts General Court, 1781.01.19.00.
