Gray, Philip, 1775 - 1838

Philip Gray, known as Esquire Gray, was a carpenter and builder from Ledyard, Connecticut. He served as a justice of the peace for North Stonington.  In 1818, he and business partner Gurdon Bill purchased land in Ledyard to build a general store.  Gray sold his interest in the building to Bill the following year for $500. Gray provided services for both the Mashantucket and Eastern Pequot tribes in 1823, 1824, and 1832.
