Denison, Charles, 1778 - 1825

Charles Denison (February 23, 1778-July 25, 1825) of New Haven was educated at Yale College (1796) and became a tutor at William College.  He returned to his hometown to open a law practice.   Denison was a member of the Connecticut General Assembly from New Haven (1809 to 1820), serving as Clerk of the Lower House (1811-1814) and Speaker of the House (1815-1817).  Roll of State Officers and Members of General Assembly.
