Cooper, Ezekiel M. , - 1874

Ezekiel M. Cooper was the son of Charles and Esther Cooper and a member of the Mohegan Tribe of Montville, Connecticut.  He married Sarah D. Seymour in Norwich, Connecticut on July 15, 1855.  The Coopers had at least four children, Adelaide, Albert, Charles, and an unnamed daughter.  In 1850 he was a signatory to a petition to the Connecticut General Assembly protesting the ability of several individuals of selling shares in Mohegan Tribal lands. Brown and Rose, Black Roots, 91. Remonstrance of Anson D.
