Awassamug (Lawrence), Elizabeth

Elizabeth Awassamug was the daughter of John Awassamug of Natick, Massachusetts and the sister of Ann/Hannah Awassamug Pelemy Brooks.  Elizabeth married Samuel Lawrence around 1748. The couple had two children, Hannah (born c. 1751) and Samuel (born c. 1755).  In the winter of 1753, Elizabeth petitioned the Massachusetts General Court to sell part of her land to discharge his debts and those of her late sister, Ann.  Two years later, she and Samuel Lawrence made another request to sell part of their lands to meet their financial obligations.  Elizabeth and Stephen Senaay of Medway filed intentions of marriage at Natick on March 18, 1758.  Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, Ancestry.  Natick Vital Records, The Massachusetts VR Project.  Petition of Elizabeth Lawrence, 1753.12.10.00.  The Petition of Samuel and Elizabeth Lawrence, 1755.06.24.00.
