Allyn, Matthew, 1660 - 1758

Mathew Allyn was the son of Captain Thomas and Abigail Allyn of Windsor, Connecticut.  He served as Cpatin of the Windsor Trainband (1701), Deputy from Windsor to the Connecticut General Court (1700, 1703-5, 1707-9), Assistant (1710-1733)m and Lieutenant-Colonel in the expedition against Canada.  Allyn was appointed judge of the Superior Court in May 1723,  (1709, 1710).  Register of the Connecticut Society of the Colonial Dames of America (Hartford, CT: The Case, Lockwood, & Brainard Co., 1907), 210.
