Allyn, Abel, 1790 - 1857

Born on December 24, 1790, the son of Ephraim Allen and Temperance Morgan, Abel Allyn was a farmer in Ledyard, Connecticut.  In March of 1825, he purchased timber from the Western Pequot's overseer, Elisha Crary.  Allyn also made a coffin for a Mashantucket child. Allyn died of dropsy on August 20, 1857.
