Mashonshowett’s grant to land to John Winthrop, Esq.
Know all men by these presents
That I, Mashonshowett, brother to James, do upon the considerations mentioned on the other side of this paper by my brother, do likewise for myself, give, grant, bargain and sell and, by these presents, confirm unto the said Mr. John Winthrop of Pequot all that land at Pautusket as is on the other side of this paper, and in that deed made over by my brother James to the said John Winthrop with all the land, meadow, swamps, wood and timber as is there mentioned.
To have and to hold all the said lands and premises to the said John Winthrop and his heirs forever, and we, the said James and Mashonshowett, do hereby testify that this we do by the full and free consent of Aguntus, Pumquamon, Mussitiam, brothers to Aguntus, also Moas, and all the rest of the chief men of those parts about and at Quinebaug, and in their names having all consented thereto.
In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands this 25th of November, 1653.
