Report of William Hillhouse concerning the Nomination of an Overseer for the Mohegan Indians

The undersigned begs leave to inform the Honorable General Assembly that, on the decease of the Honorable Judge Law, the Mohegan Tribe of Indians, by their chiefs, that they had nominated John G. Hillhouse for one of their overseers.  At the same time, they were informed that undersigned wished to resign his overseership.  They afterwards, by their chiefs, informed me that they had unanimously nominated Lyman Law, Esq., for another of their overseers.
