Bacon, Michael, 1722 -

Born at Dedham, Massachusetts in 1722, Michael Bacon was the son of Michael Bacon, Sr. and Abigail Day.  He served as a private in Captain Daniel Whiting's Company, Colonel Johnathan Brewers' regiment in the summer of 1775.  He later enlisted in Captain Hopestill Hall's Company of Colonel Lemuel Robinson's Regiment the following year.  In 1773, Bacon took care of a French and Indian War veteran at his house in Needham.  He did the same for Alexander Queppish, a Mashpee solider, who had taken ill at Cambridge in 1776.  Thomas William Baldwin, Michael Baldwin of Dedham and His Descendants (Cambridge, MA: Pres of Murray and Emery Company, 1915) 176, 194.  Clarke, History of the Town of Needham, 321.  Petition of Michael Bacon, 1776.07.00
