Stoddard, Ebenezer

After graduating from Brown in1807, Ebenezer Stoddard was admitted to the bar three years later and began a law practice in West Woodstock, Connecticut.  He was elected to the 17th and 18th Federal Congresses )1821-1825) and afterward served in the Connecticut Senate (1825-1827).   Stoddard also served as lieutenant governor of Connecticut (1833, 1835-1837) and then returned to private practice.  Wikipedia.
