Edwards, Henry W., 1779 - 1847
Born in New Haven Connecticut in 1779, Henry Waggaman Edwards was the son of Pierpont Edwards and Frances Ogden. After graduating from Princeton (1797), he studied law at the Litchfield Law School.
Edwards was elected United States Representative from Connecticut (1819-1823) and served as a U.S. Senator (1823-27). Returning to Connecticut, he became a Connecticut State Senator (1828-1829), a representative from New Haven in 1830, and Governor in 1833 and 1835-1838. Wikipedia.
